
Dr. Robert Glennon will be on campus Thursday, Nov. 19 at 7:00 PM in the Tivoli Student Union Turnhalle room for a distinguished lecture entitled “Unquenchable: America’s Water Crisis and What to do about it.” LECTURE IS FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.
Dr. Glennon’s continued research and recent book in the domain of water has made him a person of authority on the property rights relating to water. He has drawn a lot of national attention and appeared on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart recently to talk about water issues and his brand new book.Join us for what will be an very interesting discussion and lecture.
Along with Dr. Glennon’s opening lecture on Thursday will be a panel discussion in which he will participate in on Friday November 20 to discuss research opportunities relating to water and sustainability at University of Colorado Denver and in Colorado’s Front Range. All are welcome and encouraged to attend both the lecture and panel discussion. Location of the panel discussion is to be determined
Since his new book was published in April 2009, Dr. Robert Glennon has been a guest on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, The Diane Rehm Show, C-SPAN2’s Book TV, and National Public Radio shows in New York City, Chicago and Phoenix; he has also published articles in the Washington Post and the Arizona Republic. In 2009, his busy speaking schedule will take him to Saudi Arabia, Switzerland, Canada, and 17 states in the U.S..
Dr. Glennon received a Juris Doctor. from Boston College Law School and an Masters Degree and Doctorate Degree. in American History from Brandeis University. He is also a member of the Arizona and Massachusetts bars. He is the Morris K. Udall Professor of Law and Public Policy in the Rogers College of Law at the University of Arizona. Dr. Robert Glennon has received two National Science Foundation grants, he serves as Water Policy Advisor to Pima County, Arizona; as a member of American Rivers’ Science and Technical Advisory Committee; and as a commentator and analyst for various television and radio programs. He is also a blogger for the Huffington Post.
